About DeLTA 2025

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning (DL) has significantly transformed various sectors, including computer vision, healthcare, finance, transportation, manufacturing, and education. To harness this transformative potential, it is essential to equip young researchers and students with advanced knowledge and hands-on skills in Deep Learning technologies. The Deep Learning Training and Applications (DeLTA) Winter Internship and Project-Certificate Program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical implementation. This one-month intensive program will combine theoretical understanding with project-based learning, enabling participants to contribute to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the AI domain. The DeLTA Winter Internship and Project-Certificate Program aims to nurture the next generation of AI researchers and innovators by fostering creativity, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial vision. Through this initiative, students will not only gain practical experience but also contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Deep Learning applications for societal and industrial benefit.

Objectives

• To provide participants with a solid foundation in Deep Learning concepts, architectures, and frameworks.
• To facilitate hands-on experience in implementing real-world Deep Learning applications.
• To build a collaborative ecosystem among academia, research institutions, and industry experts.
• To encourage innovative thinking and project implementation leading to research publications, copyrights, patents, and start-up ideas.

Program Structure

• Expert-Led Sessions: Technical discussions and brainstorming sessions by faculty members, researchers, and industry professionals.
• Mentored Projects: Participants will work in small teams on guided Deep Learning projects with mentorship support.
• Innovation Challenges: Fast-track project challenges and problem statements designed to foster creative solutions.
• Research & Entrepreneurship Support: Sessions on transforming ideas into publication(s), patent(s), or viable Start-Up(s).

Weekly Plan

Expected Outcomes

At the end of the DeLTA program, participants are expected to achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

• Research Publications: Drafting and submission of technical papers to top-rated conferences or journals.
• Intellectual Property Creation: Filing of copyrights, patents, or software licenses.
• Prototypes or Start-ups: Development of proof-of-concept systems with commercialization potential.
• Skill Certification: Recognition of technical competence through a Certificate of Completion and Project Merit.
• Collaborative Network: A community of innovators and researchers in Deep Learning.

Certification and Evaluation

Participants will receive a Certificate of Internship and Project Completion based on active participation and project evaluation by an expert panel. Top performers will get Special Recognition Awards and post-program mentorship opportunities. Excellence will be recognized in participants who lead to research papers, patents, or start-ups.

Resources and Support

• GPU-based computational infrastructure (local as per availability).
• Learning materials, recorded sessions, and datasets from CVB Lab.
• Guidance from IIIT Allahabad faculty mentors.
• Collaboration with R&D cells for patent/start-up support.
• Networking with Research Labs and Start-up Incubators for post-program commercialization and research continuation.
