Dr. Satish Kumar Singh is with the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad India, as an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Technology from 2013. Before joining the IIIT Allahabad, he served the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology Guna, India from 2005 to 2012. He has about 16+ years of professional experience in various capacities. His areas of interest include Image Processing, Computer Vision, Biometrics, Deep Learning, and Pattern Recognition. Presently he is heading the Computer Vision and Biometrics Lab (CVBL) at IIIT Allahabad from 2015 onwards. His group is involved in the R&D of the Signal & Image Processing, Vision, and Biometrics Algorithms and Systems. He has supervised 6 PhDs and 34 Master's students in his research career and presently 9 Ph.D. and 6 Master Students are doing research in CVBL.

He is the principal/co-principal investigator of many projects funded from various government funding agencies i.e. Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Education and Home Affairs Government of India. Dr. Singh is holding the responsibilities as Local Coordinator, Global Initiative of Academic Network by MoE, Government of India, Nodal Officer Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, Convener Departmental Postgraduate Committee, and Associate Dean I/C Ranking and Accreditation, Library and e-Library. Dr. Singh is also involved in academic and research outreach activities and presently serving as Associate Editor IET Image Processing, Associate Editor International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, Lead Guest Editor of Special Issue of Springer's Neural Computations and Applications on Computer Vision and Image Processing, Guest Editor of Special Issues of Springer's Nature Computer Science on Recent Trends in Computer Vision, Guest Editor of Special Issues of Springer's Nature Computer Science on Progress in Image Processing.
Dr. Singh is proactively offering his volunteer services to IEEE for the last many years in various capacities. He is the senior member of IEEE Signal Processing Society, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, IEEE Education Society, IEEE Photonics Society, IEEE Biometric Council, IEEE Sensor Council, and IEEE Systems Council. Presently Dr. Singh is Section Chair IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section (2021) and a member of IEEE India Council (2021). He also served as the Vice-Chair, Operations, Outreach and Strategic Planning of IEEE India Council (2020) & Vice-Chair IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section (2019 & 2020). Prior to that Dr. Singh was Secretary, IEEE UP Section (2017 & 2018), Treasurer, IEEE UP Section (2016 & 2017), Joint Secretary, IEEE UP Section (2015), Convener Web and Newsletters Committee (2014 & 2015).
Dr. Singh is also the technical committee affiliate of IEEE SPS IVMSP and MMSP and presently the Secretary, IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter of Uttar Pradesh Section. Dr. Singh is organizing many impactful events every year for the benefit of the SPS members, to name a few, IEEE SPS Distinguished Lectures in 2015, 16, and 19, IEEE SPS Meeting on Advances in Deep Architectures for Signal Image and Vision Application under the IEEE SPS Member-driven initiative in 2019 and ADASIVA-18/20/21. He is also the founder and the present faculty-counsellor of IEEE Student Branch, IIIT Allahabad under his guidance and supervision many awards and laurels like, the India Council Student Volunteer Award, Section's Best Student Branch Award, Largest Student Branch award, and Two IEEE MGA Richard E-Marwin Scholarship has come to the SB and Section as well.
Dr. Singh was instrumental in successfully organizing the IEEE UP Section's Conference UPCON in 2015 as Conference Coordinator, IEEE Computer Society India Symposium 2017, and IEEE IC AISYWC 2017. Dr. Singh was the Conference Chair for 3rd IEEE CICT-2019, and General Chair, 4th IEEE TS Conference CICT-2020, 5th IAPR CVIP-2020, and 8th IEEE UPCON 2021. Dr. Satish is the reviewer of many reputed IEEE and ACM Transactions.
